Online training course

An online scratchpads training course will be held on Friday 06 June 2014. The target audience is existing or perspective Scratchpads users mainly from regions and communities that no on-site training has previously been given or is planned for in the near future.

Format of the training course
The course will run using the Google hangouts platform. Google hangouts provide the necessary tools for online training including screen sharing and conference capabilities. Hangouts are free to use and the only requirement is an active Google+ account.
The course schedule:
* Introductory presentation (45 min)
* Short break (10 min)
* Hands on training part I (1h30m)
* Break (45 min)
* Hands on training part II (1h30m)
* Short break (15 min)
* A discussion/questions part (30 min)

Who can register
Anyone who is actively using or planning to use Scratchpads in the future. Registrations are completely open and the available seats are allocated on registration priority basis. Scratchpads courses are provided free of any charge.

Number of participants
As this is a soft launch phase for the online training approach we will keep the number of participants to a maximum of 9 people. We expect the places to be filled quickly so register as soon as possible to secure a place.

Time and duration of training
As this is a global event we cannot ensure that the time of the training course will be convenient in all Countries. This specific course is scheduled to start at 10.00 BST (GMT +1). As a result we expect it to be mostly convenient for participants between GMT-2 and GMT+8 time zones.

What should you expect?
The main objective of the online training courses is to familiarise users with the interface and basic functionality of Scratchpads. By the end of the course attendees will be able to set-up their new Scratchpads, add content and use the main features of Scratchpads. Furthermore, time will be allocated to specific questions regarding new or existing Scratchpads projects.
